Our Purpose
Help Change Other People’s Lives… And The World
1436 A.D.
The invention of the printing press makes large quantities of information easily and readily available to the masses for the first time in human history. This revolution in learning helps spark the Renaissance Era which produces the greatest flurry of technological advancements and inventions the world has ever seen up until that point.
Fast forward 400 years. In the early 19th century roughly 5% of the population of the United States lives in cities. Driven by the rapid progress made in the Renaissance Era (started by the printing press) the Industrial Revolution triggers an unstoppable migration of the workforce from the country into the urban areas, giving birth to the modern corporation as we’ve come to know it.
Today, more than 75% of the American population lives in cities.
Now, new technology and the rapid spread of information as a result of the internet (just like the printing press) is triggering another major economic revolution.
Free or low cost mass communication methods have made business and financial independence more attainable for the average person now than ever before in history.
The result of this information revolution is another massive and unstoppable migration of the workforce. This time, from the traditional corporation, back to the home in the form of freelancers, independent contractors and home based businesses.
Business, financial, political and economic leaders have been predicting this shift for decades and it’s happening right now.
Here are just a few statistics that reflect what’s going on (and many of them are a couple years old, the numbers are even more staggering today):
- Over 120,000 new blogs are created every day – over 14% are used to make their owners money
Technorati.com, world’s largest blog directory - Between 2007 and 2009 freelancing jobs more than quadrupled
Odesk.com, leader in placing freelancers - Online businesses are acquiring new customers at a 15% annual rate versus 2% for traditional offline businesses.
Deloitte & Touche USA, 11/2006 - 1 out of 2 of the nation's businesses are operated from home
US Census Bureau, 09/2006 - 3/4 of U.S. adults who go online say the internet has made it easier to start a business
Yahoo Small Business/Harris Interactive, 04/2006 - Over 71% of Americans use the internet to make buying decisions
Jupiter Research - 47% of small business owners use the internet to market or advertise their business
American Express, 05/2006 - Online consumer spending is expected to reach $1,512 per customer in 2009, up from $877 per customer in 2005
eMarketer - Consumers are 50% more likely to be influenced by blogs and e-mails than TV, radio and other offline forms of communication
EPM Communications, 04/2006 - Jobs are being lost at the rate of 600,000 per month… and new businesses are starting up at almost exactly the same rate: 600,000 per month
I don’t have a reference for this one, but I heard it from a guy I really trust: Perry Marshall
How would you like to have been able to say, “I was on the team that helped develop Google’s original search engine algorithm?”
Or, “I was there when Microsoft moved out of a garage into their first real office?”
That’s the opportunity you have right now – to be at the very forefront of designing a new industry and to play a key role in a company that’s leading the change.
We’ve helped hundreds of thousands of network marketers and every kind of small business owner you can imagine (from dentists and massage therapists to auto mechanics, attorneys, real estate agents, and consultants) create legitimate, profitable businesses.
And there’s hundreds of thousands more that need help.
But we need your help in reaching them.
It might sound a little cheesy to say, but we’re basically looking for people who want to save the world.
Here at Marketing Merge Professional, we believe it's hardworking people like you and me who revive economies – not governments.
According to the SBA (Small Business Administration), small businesses…
- Represent more than 99% of all employers
- provide 60% to 80% of the net new jobs annually
- are 53% home-based
- make up nearly 97% of all U.S. exports
And according to the National Commission on Entrepreneurship…
- 90% of the most significant discoveries in the 21st century have come from businesses that hired less than 20 people
- Since 1980, small businesses have added 34 million new jobs despite the fact that Fortune 500 companies lost more than 5 million jobs
- In the 1990s, existing companies in Silicon Valley cut 121,000 jobs, while companies started after 1990 created 259,000 jobs
And, quote:
“If innovation and entrepreneurship profoundly shaped
the 20th century, they will define the 21st.”
